Beneath your feet at Lake Wanaka, the pebbles crunch…

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Beneath Your Feet.”

Hi,

We don’t know if you are allowed to offer more than one posting, but we found these photographs which were taken at Glendhu Bay, Lake Wanaka earlier this year in May. Glendhu Bay is on the Te Araroa trail, which runs through the length of New Zealand. Gales and snow storms had been raging in Mt Aspiring National Park for days before we took these pictures.

The air was unbelievably still, and temperaturesrapidly dropping towards zero degrees Celcius.

And if only one post is allowed, please let us know.

Beneath our feet the pebbles crunch, and mist rises from the lake to farewell the setting sun. Glendhu Bay, Lake Wanaka.
